1. If you wan to get newest drivers for your CQ60 you can always refer to the manufacture site, here is the guide to get the latest drivers:

1. For Chipset: go to Intel Download center and search for "INF Update Utility -​ Primarily for Intel® 6, 5, 4, 3, 900 Series Chipsets" On the search result look for the latest drivers available.

2. For Intel Graphic to Intel download center and search for "Intel® Graphics Driver for Windows XP" and select the latest drivers available.

3. Audio Drivers : If you want to get the audio drivers provided by Microsoft, go to Microsoft update catalog using Internet Explorer browser. Search for " Conextant High Definition Smart Audio 221". On the search result look for version 3.49.4.51 date: 6/11/2008size: 783kb. Install manually via device manager using the same method to install the conextant audio explained on this link.

Audio Drivers:
Since there are no best single driver available, you have to follow this step carefully.

1. Install MS-UAA first:
Windows XP, XP SP2: Download  (KB888111)
Windows XP SP3: Download  (KB835221)

Restart and then install audio drivers below.

2. Install the Audio:
IDT High Definition Audio Codec
(2 drivers, if the first one didn't work, use 2nd drivers)
Download (SP41693)
Download (SP39671)

 If resulting in error, ignore it and proceed  by manually install the drivers:

Download and install the driver, you will get the error while  installing.
Perform the below steps to fix the issue.
1. Click on Start and select Run. Now type devmgmt.msc and press enter.
2. Right click on "Audio device on High Definition Audio Bus" and click  Update driver.
3. Select "Install from a list or specific location".
4. Click Next. Then select "Don't search, I will choose the driver to  install".
5. Click Next and then select "Sound, video and game controller" from  the list.
6. Click Next and then click Have Disk.
7. Click Browse C:\swsetup\sp39671 folder and select the .inf   file and click open and Continue with the onscreen instructions.

Webcam Crash Problems MSN Messenger (SOLVED)

Before continue reading the entire post, I would like to stress this post is specific for Compaq laptop but you can also apply for other type if you know to choose your driver. I made this post because i got an email asked about Webcam crashed using MSN Messenger and she report back that its work for her. SO here is my original reply to her email and hope help you too, if you still having trouble( Especially different models) leave your comments.

here some suggestion that may help you:

first update your youcam driver:

Audio Drivers
You must Install MS-UAA before installing audio drivers. Reboot after MS-UAA and install audio drivers. Please don;t skip this step to make sure your audio installed properly.

Instruction to Install Audio Drivers:

1. Unzip the file, i suggest unzip it at desktop and you will get CQSmartAudio_221 folder.
2. Remember that folder location we will use it later.
3. Open device manager by click start and select RUN, type DEVMGMT.MSC and press enter.
4. A device manager will open, look for Audio Device on High Def Bus. Right click and select update driver.
5. Select No to connect.
6. Select Don't Search, I will choose the driver to install,
7. For the Hardware Type select 'Show All Devices'
8. Remove the check (uncheck) from "Show Compatible Hardware" and click on "Have Disk".
9. Browse to  CQSmartAudio_221 folder we extract earlier and select WAHER5a.inf.
10. Continue with on screen installation until finish. Ignore if it prompt or complaint. reboot.
